Lavender essential oil is one of the most complex naturally occurring oils. It has long been a favorite among aromatherapists for its well-recognized relaxing properties. Indeed, it has recently been demonstrated in clinical studies to have distinct sleep enhancing properties. This soothing of the mind complements its long history of use for its other therapeutic properties, most notably topical analgesia or anesthesia (pain relief on skin or mucous membranes) and antisepsis.
Its use in the treatment of burns and abrasions represents perhaps the optimal use of these particular properties. As a topical analgesic alone it has found wide application for the treatment of cuts and abrasions as well as acute insect bites and stings. [We can personally attest to its efficacy in the relief of the extraordinary pain of a wasp sting on the tongue!]
To ensure optimum quality, unlike many others who buy their oil from "bulk sources" with no clear production history, all our essential oil is is organically certified and distilled right here on the farm exclusively from the lavender flowers we grow ourselves here on the farm.
